Living is Giving

Well, here it is November already and I have once again set aside holiday thinking until it is certain I will be stressed out and behind by the time Thanksgiving rolls around. I am very proud of myself in one thing though, because I did get the “Harvest” decorations out before the end of September. That’s not to say that they were displayed at that point, but I did get the box that says Thanksgiving on it out of storage. It only took me til the middle of October before I actually opened it up and began to display my decorations. That, my friends, is a first for me and it gives me great hope that I might have Christmas up before December 22nd.

Christmas is Randy’s favorite time of year. If it were up to him it would be Christmas all year round. The minute they start playing Christmas music, that will be the only thing that I will hear until the end of January. I even had to make him a special Christmas playlist on his ipod so he could make sure that was all that played whenever we drove anywhere.

All that is well and fine but it really starts feeling like Christmas when the smell of butter and sugar waft through the house. Yes, that’s right, when Christmas candy goes into production that’s when we know the end of the year is on the way. This year has a whole new meaning to the Christmas candy production as it will be a means to help support Melissa on her missions trip to India. And that is my favorite part about Christmas – giving to help others.
